Considering Going?
If you are considering being sent with Resurrection Church, we would love to begin that conversation with you.
The first step is to complete our Interest Form by September 30.
On the Form you will tell us a little about yourself, why you are interested in Resurrection, and how you are currently involved at Desert Springs. Filling out the form is not a commitment to go. It simply means: “I want to seriously explore this.”
What Happens Next?
Meet with Elders - After you complete the Interest Form, some of our elders will meet with you to hear why you are interested, answer your questions, and help discern whether going would be good for you, good for Resurrection, and good for Desert Springs.
Elder Review - Before anyone is formally invited to join the launch team, the full body of Desert Springs elders will consider the prospective team together. Because this is a church Desert Springs is sending, we want to think carefully about both the health of Resurrection and the health of DSC.
Make a Commitment - Our hope is to know the committed launch team by Thanksgiving 2026.
Launch Team Phase - From January through March 2027, the launch team will begin meeting regularly for worship, prayer, training, community, and preparation for launch while remaining members of Desert Springs.
Covenant Together - Lord willing, Resurrection Church will covenant together as a new church and begin public worship at Easter Sunday, 2027.
Help Send Resurrection
You do not have to join Resurrection Church to play an important role in planting it.
We need the whole church to help pray, give, and serve as Resurrection prepares to launch.
Pray
More than anything else, we need God to build his church.
Please pray:
for God to save people through Resurrection Church;
for wisdom and unity among our leaders;
for the people considering joining the launch team;
for Kha and Melanie Do as they prepare to move to Albuquerque;
for our building renovations and preparations;
for God to provide the people, resources, and gifts the church needs;
and for Desert Springs to remain strong and healthy as it sends.
Give
Desert Springs is already making a significant financial investment in Resurrection Church. Beyond normal operating expenses, we are also raising funds for several major one-time startup needs:
$100,000 — Tenant Improvements
Preparing and renovating our building for ministry.
$75,000 — Church Assets & Equipment
Chairs, audio and musical equipment, furniture, children’s equipment, technology, and other startup needs.
$75,000 — Startup Reserve
Providing financial stability as the new congregation becomes established.
Total Fundraising Goal: $250,000
If the Lord has given you the ability, please consider making an additional gift above and beyond your regular giving to Desert Springs.
Online gifts can be designated to Church Planting, or checks may be made payable to Desert Springs Church with Church Planting written on the memo line.
Serve
Our new building at 5621 Paradise Boulevard NW is an incredible provision, but there is plenty of work to do before launch.
As renovation plans are finalized, we will need volunteers to help with projects such as painting, cleaning, moving, assembling furniture and equipment, and other practical work.
We will announce specific volunteer opportunities and workdays as they are scheduled.
Stay Connected
We are still several months from launch, and more opportunities to pray, serve, and participate will be announced along the way.
Whether you go with Resurrection or stay at Desert Springs, our prayer is the same: that God would use both churches to make Christ known and multiply healthy churches throughout Albuquerque and beyond.
How Should I Think About Going?
Joining a church plant should be a prayerful, joyful, and sober decision.
A good reason to consider Resurrection is a desire to see the gospel proclaimed, disciples made, and another healthy local church established. You may also have a particular connection to Albuquerque’s west side, a desire to help build and serve in a new congregation, or simply a willingness to be sent for the sake of Christ’s mission.
But Resurrection is not being planted as an escape from Desert Springs. Conflict, frustration with leadership, personal preferences, a desire for greater influence, or simply wanting something new are not healthy foundations for joining a church plant.
Most people at Desert Springs should stay. Some should go. Both can be faithful.
We simply ask you to pray with open hands and consider what role the Lord may have for you.
